Abstract: |
Objectives of the study:
Objective was to investigate if it is possible to combine agile practices with the waterfall model in a subproject of a large waterfall project and obtain better quality, i.e. less change requests in system testing phase. Academic background and methodology: Literature review of mixed methodologies, challenges of the agile projects and critical success factors of the different methodologies, a case study. Findings and conclusions: Using parts of an agile methodology, in this study Scrum, in a single subproject of the entire waterfall project does not affect the result or success of the subproject nor the entire project. Without the client participation and understanding of agility, the project cannot be agile. Some of the best practices of Scrum are in any case beneficial in all kind of project improving the communication. Keywords agile, waterfall, critical success factors |
