This note describes the telecommunications industry in the point of view of the hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) systems. The current and future applications for distributing multimedia are illustrated, as well as trends at the industry and at regional level. The note introduces the competitors within the industry, and their selected modes of operation as well as the key success factors in the industry. The time of the note is the year 1995, but certain projections are given until 2002. |
