Abstract: This short case describes a situation in May 1999, when Peter West, the owner of West Consulting in Vaasa, Finland was preparing for his second interview with Mats Hansson. Mats Hansson, a local farmer, wanted to know if he should stay in farming or focus on his sawmill operations. Students’ task is to place themselves in the position of Peter West as the consultant, and give their recommendation, or talk about the next steps to be taken before any recommendation can be given.
